Baby Bird

This little guy was on our porch tonight when Jake got home. He can't fly yet and we are a little worried about the outdoor cats in the neighborhood but we also don't want to try and catch him. His parents have been around him in the trees above so we have put down piles of bird seed all over the front yard so he can eat while he's stuck in our bushes. He's so cute!

Giuliana is 3 Months Old Today

I can not believe how fast she is growing. She can hold her head up like a pro, roll over from her back to her stomach and then from her stomach to her back, and (just like her sister) she sucks her thumb! She will be a year old before we know it.

Happy 29th Birthday Jake!!

Jake turned 29 last night, which Isabella thinks is "old." We had a really nice time out at dinner with a few of our friends. We went to Elways in Denver and the food was wonderful, especially the chocolate martinis!! His gifts ranged from a boxing nun to a nice bottle of Tanqueray! Thank you to everyone who came! Here's to one more year of youth, you old man!

Vince (friend from V3, ) Jake, Matt (friend married to Anna's friend,) Jeri (old friend and generous ticket giver,) Me, Claire (friend from V3,) Beth and Charles (friends and neighbors.) not pictured: Gianna, Carolina and Brandon (they went home early)

Matt, Hillary (Anna's old friend,) Me, Jeri (not Jake's date, he wishes he was that lucky,) Jake, Beth and Charles!!

"Put Your Shoes By Daddy's"

That's what Jake said to Isabella Friday night. I just thought this was so sweet. They have become great buddies since Giuliana was born, they go everywhere together. They are also so much alike it's spooky. It's funny though, when I saw this I thought I was going to cry, it was just precious.

Another Attempt at a Rockies Game

This time we actually made it to the field. We spent most of the time inside the club area eating and trying to keep Giuliana happy. We did ok. Isabella got to have a hot dog, she got to watch some of the game outside with her Dad and she had her very first bowl of Dippin Dots, yum! We stayed until the 7th inning, which I guess was a good thing because the Rockies decided not to win this game. On a fun note, Jake and Isabella made it on the Fox Sports News report. We are going to record the replay of the game today at noon to see just how much!

They Grow Up So Fast

I took these pictures Monday while we were getting ready to go to a Rockies Game. We didn't actually get to go after all because Giuliana wasn't feeling 100% but when I loaded these pictures onto the computer I just couldn't help but feel that Isabella looked very grown up in them. Last night Jake and I watched video of her when she was just learning to walk, now she's singing her ABC's, pretending, and climbing all over everything. I always hear from people who have older kids (my age) how fast we have all grown but I didn't think it would start this early. It seems like Giuliana is growing faster than Isabella did, she's already rolling over and holding her head up like a pro, she's not even 3 months old yet! It's all very wonderful....and surprisingly sad.

Giuli's New Seat

Giuliana got a new bouncy seat that sits up because she likes to sit tall. It also does a bunch of fun things like plays music, it has a cute little farm mobile and vibrates to soothe her. She loves it! Ok-this was an excuse to show a cute picture or 2!!!

Father's Day 2006

I think Jake had a pretty nice Father's Day. He got to sleep in this morning, then I put Giuliana down for a nap and took Isabella to get donuts and coffee (it's what he wanted) while he sat home and read the paper. He watched one of his favorite movies and then we got ready and went to his Dad's house. We had a really nice time, Isabella loves to play with her uncles and they are really good with her. She is wearing her brand new dress her Grandma Marje sent her from Italy and Giuliana is wearing her Ralph Lauren dress from Vince so they looked wonderful! Until Giuliana had a little too much milk and got sick. It was still a very nice day, oh and that's Jake's Dad Steve and one of his 2 pups Henry sharing a moment. Happy Father's Day!!

PS. Dad, I miss you. Happy Father's Day.

Congratulations Adam and Melanie

I am so excited for Melanie and Adam, they are going to be expecting their first baby in February, a great month to have a baby! I know they are going to make wonderful parents! Congrats guys!

Shopping for Father's Day

We tried to go shopping for some Father's Day gifts but Isabella had her heart set on a new bike, which she didn't get, and then got very tired and wanted to lounge. Needless to say we left without anything for Daddy, maybe we will have better luck tomorrow.

A Must See

By the way, Jake and I really liked this movie, it was a lot of fun. There are some great voices in this movie, Owen Wilson, Bonnie Hunt, Paul Newman, and Tony Shaloub! If you want a little fun, check it out!

All Better.....Finally!

We are finally getting better. We even decided to try and take Isabella to her first movie last night by going to the drive-in. We went to see Cars. Well it started at about 9, Isabella usually goes to bed around then. Poor kid was asleep about 10 minutes after the movie started. So, Giuliana slept in a bed we made for her in the back of the Explorer and Isabella slept in my arms and Jake and I enjoyed Cars, it was wonderful. :)

Those Hot Summer Days

Well Isabella was feeling a lot better today so I decided to blow up her little pool so we could play outside a little. No way, it was still 101 at 5:30 tonight. It is supposed to get a little cooler from here on out so maybe we can actually go outside. That was also my lovely husband's temperature when he got home from work, poor guy. The joys of parenthood!

The Road to Recovery Has Many Speed Bumps

Well, while Isabella was busy getting better poor Giuliana was starting to get very sick. We ended up at the ER trying to get her rehydrated. She is doing much better now. She isn't eating too much but fluids every 40 minutes and she has kept everything down since 1am. It was a very scary experience but thanks to the wonderful people at Good Samartian Hospital in Louisville she is going to be just fine. My poor babies. On a happier note Isabella is about 75% back to normal. I will take pictures of her when she is better tonight.

Mr. Mom

Jake had to take over last night. Isabella was feeling better but poor Giuliana got very sick so while I tended to her Dad took over bath duties and pj time. Oh, the green bath water is something fun we have for Isabella. Little tablets that turn the water whatever color you want and last night she was in a green mood. Ha!
